For the last 3 months Rey, and I have been living in our shipping container home, building as we go, adding when funds are available, and most of all taking life one day at a time. Before you get to caught up in what a #shippingcontainerhomeis, GO GOOGLE IT also check out (MINI HOUSE NATION). LOL. We're choosing to live off the grid, up in the rain forest on the slopes of Mauna Kea, in the Mt.View region, where it's been raining more days than normal since we got up here. But it's all worth it. We adopted 3 wonderful dogs, (Divas) who are more like little children than kids are, they want our undivided attention and hate to say it, we adore the rascals. With the help of our really good friends we've been able to figure out the little and BIG details and hit the ground running. Besides, the great move and this new project adventure, I'm still training my clients, teaching classes at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, College of Continued Education, taking care of my BIG ISLAND workplace fitness contracts and accomplished one more certification in Sports Strength and Conditioning. Yes it's been crazy, too loony at times and down right nerve wracking, but the two of us, together, and the 3 divas, we're holding our heads up and pushing forward one baby step at a time. Right now the birds are now finding the little feeders I've placed outside my French doors, it drives the girls nuts, and it's pretty funny, watching all the birds mess with them. I'm working on getting the ground ready for planting for a spring garden, (functional fitness, no sledge hammer here, but a real full size pick does the job, pretty well.) and my potted plants are giving us edible blooms, so I must be doing something right. LOL.... I'm going over what types of plants I want to grow, and (if anyone has banana plants they would love to give me, I'd so love to have some, other types of veggies and herbs too. ) I finally chose my color scheme for my home office / art studio, (a touch of yellow) got my vision board with the desk of my dreams, and driving my VOLVO, since it's been in the shop getting a transmission servicing done.... feeling grateful, feeling productive and most of all excited... and trust me it's been a very long time. Rey and I are doing things old school, so if anyone has house improvement materials, like good but used roofing, lumber, off grid fixtures that you're willing to part with, we could sure use them. So far we've managed to re-purpose everything we've built this home with. WE wanted to try to keep with the idea of reducing our carbon footprint and live a more simple life. (What you own, can own you). We're working on getting things finished by the end of 2017, since we're not building from scratch, so stay tuned with our progress.
