THIS IS JUST MY OPINION: ALTHOUGH THE LITTLE ONES IN THIS PIC ARE CUTE... IT'S THE STATEMENT AND THE BELIEFS BEHIND IT THAT CHANGES THE PERSPECTIVE.
Some of you think this is cute, and it is too a point, and some of you will disagree coming from a trainers point of view, or a point of view from someone who've had to deal with eating disorders all your life, and BODY IMAGE ISSUES..... THE SCALE and the distorted body image beliefs have done more damage in women's lives for way too long..... BE KIND, BUT WHAT'S YOUR TAKE. If you grew up in a household that MOMMY, AUNTIE AND GRAMS all had body image issues, and spoke about their fatty thighs, lumpy legs, extra pouch.... THE SCALE WAS AN INSTRUMENT TO CONTINUE TO PERPETUATE THOSE NASTY TAUNTS THAT HAS NEVER GONE AWAY EVEN INTO YOUR 80s. Trust me, I work with senior women that continue to have the same issues. SO ALTHOUGH SOME OF YOU SAY IT'S ALL IN FUN... I GET IT, BUT THIS GOES DEEPER THAN YOU KNOW. WE LEARN THROUGH EXAMPLE, that being the case, if you were a young girl growing up watching your mommy step on the scale a couple of times a day, and say not so nice things about her body, your only example was her not liking her body, and you'd grow up feeling and doing the same thing. #BODYIMAGESTOPSWITHYOU MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT TEACHING YOUR DAUGHTER OR SON THE SAME LIFE LONG ISSUES.
